One of the favorite things I like doing at the Wesley is creating opportunities for small group community. One of the ways that I facilitate this is through cooking and eating together such in our cook and share program, pot lucks, dinner in my home or preparing for Tuesday's Table. When students come together to cook in a small group there is a unique intimacy that takes place as we all work our way around the kitchen and around each other. We share in each others lives as we each discuss the in's and out's of our day's or week's activities, or discuss our past, current or future activities (yes that all takes place in the kitchen!). These relationships continue to develop as we sit down to eat together and even when we do the dishes together. Throughout the year you will see several programs such as these that encourage these types of intimate gatherings. 

I love to be creative in everything that I do and am passionate about cooking and nutrition and encouraging food practices based on faith. My prayer is that when students walk in our door that they truly sense a place where they are welcome and find a small group community to participate in that they can call their own.
